Media and Communications for developers

Leverage social pressure to counter NIMBY opposition.

We specialize in development support communication strategies that mobilize grassroots allies, earns media coverage, and delivers digital campaigns to position your project as a public good.

  • We create pieces of mail that look different from the standard promotional or political mail pieces that account for half the junk in your mailbox each day. Everything we do is hand-addressed, and if appropriate, hand-written and personalized. This may seem like a small detail, but these communications can make a massive difference in the way your project is perceived.

Our team writes personalized postcards addressed to abutters and neighbors, letting them know what to expect and who to call if they have an issue. Our individual staffer will sign the note and will leave their personal cell phone number.

  • Oftentimes, folks need to hear the opinions of others before they decide what to believe. This is especially true of new development… change is scary, especially if that change is coupled with the inconvenience of one-lane roads or 7AM jackhammers.

A few carefully-placed newspaper articles or radio interviews in advance of a project can get these same folks singing the praises of the new bridge that you want to build, or the school that you plan to remodel. We’ll make sure that posturing happens correctly.

  • Our team has the capacity to create and manage a profile for your project on social media. In Maine, that largely means Facebook. We will develop creative photo and video content, manage your inbox and comments section, and oversee a paid promotional program to get the correct people reading positive news and updates about your project.
